This morning I got an email from the headquarters of the Oakland Fiber Festival to let me know that I won a prize. Yay!!!! I totally forgot that I entered my name to participate on one the several giveaways that happened at the Festival. It was hard to pick out only one item but I decided to participate on a raffle to win a colorful skein of Feza Yarns.
My friend Megumi and I decided to drive to Oakland last Sunday to visit the Festival. We got there early enough to find a parking spot right away and no too far either. We were very glad that we didn’t lose any time trying to find a parking space. As soon as we got there, we took our time visiting each boot and started making mental lists of possible things to purchase. I notice that there were several Alpaca breeders and other interesting boots with all kinds of fiber related crafts. One place that caught my attention was a booth with a woman making bobbin lace. She was wearing a beautiful Orenburg shawl fastened with pretty butterfly pin.
I asked her if I could take pictures of her and I promised to send her the pictures.
Her table was topped with beautiful lace work…
How about a carder on a stationary bicycle? A great way to get your fiber blended… and a workout!
This group of men where very much into fiber preparation…
Color and more color!!!!
These skeins are from Pan’s Garden Yarns
More hand spun yarn…
We finally decided to buy a baby alpaca fleece and split it in half. Pictures will be post later…
Be content with your lot; one cannot be first in everything.
