I’ve been trying to get caught up with my spinning. This is my “Tuscany” SW Merino:
This is from my last SAL “Alice in Wonderland”. I want to knit a pair of socks with this yarn, and my goal has been to spin fingering weight yarn. This is the first skein of two and right now I’m working on the second skein.
YARN SPECS: Sw Merino
I’ve been itching to knit something using this new yarn that I bought a couple months ago. I felt that a shrug would be very appropriate since the weight of the yarn (fingering) seemed light enough for a pattern with an easy lace stitch. Easy peasy… Twirl yarn is made with local wool (Napa Valley) from the sheep of Mary Pettis-Sarley and dyed using local plants. How cool is that! Check out my palette: Twirling Moona (CVM-Merino), Rudus (sp) Calcyanoides (CVM), and French Toast.
I was able to knit this in week in a half, which for me, it is really fast, considering that I’m a slooooow knitter.
I will put it all together sometime tonight. It was definitely a fun knit.
I’m having a great time spinning this yarn…
Undyed Merino, Teeswater and add-ons that I have in my stash.
Now, should I ply it or not? Hmmm… I like it as it is, but I’m thinking that a fuchsia silk thread would also work. We’ll see…
Spring is finally here! Yaaay! I can feel it when the Swallows arrive in town as they make happy noises while they fly and start gathering mud to build their nests under the eave of the houses along the lagoon. So how about celebrating the arrival of spring with a special giveaway? I will be sending to the winner 4 ounces of my “Funky Guru” Merino Top and the book Get Spun by Symeon North. I will ship the prize for free anywhere in the US and Canada. Oversees participants will pay half of the cost of shipping.

I just updated my shop with new items. I love the pretty colors of the roving and the teeswater is really a treat to work with. I’m having a hard time to letting go, but I already have plenty of fiber to work with.
I listed this colorway last week, but I didn’t have much time to post it here. Tesoro Magico is a blend of Merino and Tencel.
And the list for today starts with:
Ruffles which is very soft Merino Lambswool. Lots of bright colors in this colorway!
Bromeliad 100% Superfine Merino
Truffle 100% Superfine Merino
Split Pea I love this color. I had it in my shop a few months ago, so I recreated the color again. Thanks for looking. Have a great day!~
Note: As I was updating the blog, the Teeswater sold! But I still want to add a picture of the wool, just because is so pretty! Thanks Lush Mommy for purchasing it! Enjoy!

I just updated my Etsy shop, but I haven’t time to post it here. Warning!!!! The list is going to be long! I would like to start with Patina, because I made two versions of this colorway. One version is more saturated in color more that the other:
This is Patina with more intense colors. Blue Face Leicester. Very soft stuff…
Patina. And this is the other version, less intense than the previous one.
Aria. Sold. Blue Face Leicester
Terra. 100% Superfine, supersoft Merino
Blue Mountain. Merino. Great for felting.
Blossom. This is a blend of Merino-Tencel 50/50. I love the shine of this fiber blend
Leaf song. Sold. This is a special blend of Kid Mohair 63%, Merino 25% and Nylon 12%. Once this blend is gone, is gone!
I will be posting later tonight with more new colorways…
